Homecoming

Its that time of year again, time for everyone to come up with a creative way to ask that special someone to homecoming! KGC has cancelled dances before because not enough people want to go, don’t let that happen with homecoming, because then those same people are gonna be saying “they’re so lame, didn’t even have a homecoming!” so let’s make it happen. Go buy suits and dresses, and have fun!

          “The Joaquin hurricane”

Joaquin's maximum sustained winds increased to near 75 mph, triggering the alert. Early on Wednesday, the storm was centered about 245 miles east-northeast of the central Bahamas and was moving southwest at about 6 mph. Its center is expected to pass over or near the central Bahamas Wednesday night or early Thursday."It could be a significant situation," said Brian Fortier, senior meteorologist at the Weather Channel. "Everyone along the Northeast coast, right up to New England, should keep a close eye on the forecasts.” Already, the hurricane center said that ocean swells generated by Joaquin will begin to affect portions of the east coast of Florida and the U.S. Southeast coast by Friday, potentially causing life-threatening surf and rip current conditions. Forecasters, however, are unsure what its exact track is likely to be. Some say the most violent parts of the storm will stay offshore; others say it could make landfall, probably in the mid-Atlantic, this weekend.

John Boehner resigns from

Congress

Last Friday, John Boehner made the sudden announcement that he was resigning from the House of Representatives. He was part of the Republican party. He announced it after Pope Francis’ address to congress the day before. Sources say that he resigned due to increasing discord while trying to manage passage of a continuing resolution to fund the government. Conservative opposition to funding Planned Parenthood as part of the resolution, and stronger threats to Boehner's leadership on account of the controversy. People are speculating that with Boehner’s resignation, the worst is yet to come for American politics.

Nicki Minaj Upcoming Comedy Show

    Nicki is producing and appearing in a new comedy show on abc family of her own childhood. She might not remember all her childhood but she will be talking about her immigrant family and that, that was very important because that's part of  “the personal and musical evolution that lead to her eventual rise to stardom.”  This is a big step for Nicki. I hope everything goes good for her. I think that this is good for her fans and anyone that wants to know more about her because we can now see part of where she grew from and where she started before she became famous. This is pretty cool for Nicki, especially because it's comedy so you can laugh a little  and not get bored. I feel that with this show, more people will notice her and she will get known more personally.

      Mom kills new born

There are some things I see on the news that  I just can’t believe. For example , a mother is being charged with her newborn daughter's death after throwing her out of a 7th floor window. Who would do that to a innocent child? This woman is named Jennifer Berry, who had given birth to a small baby girl in her apartment then decide to throw her out. Family believe she was  possessed by the devil when she threw the baby out the window. The cops still have not received information from Jennifer explaining why she did such horrible act. That  baby girl took only a few breaths before she was thrown to death, if you ask me, she was gone too soon.

Malletts first win

Ryan Mallett the Texans starting quarterback helped the Houston Texans to their first win of the season. Mallett had a pass completion rate at 61.5% and had 228 yards with a touchdown pass to Deandre Hopkins. Mallett started the season as a backup but eventually became the starter as Brian Hoyer got benched for playing horribly.

School Shootings

November 20, 2014, seems like a long time ago, but it isn’t, I think it is important to know his story. Jaylen Fryberg, homecoming prince from his school decided to shoot 4 classmates in the head, wounded one, all of this before he decided to shoot himself. Jaylen was very popular in his school, but got dark when a “friend” (which was suspected to be a girlfriend) stopped texting him. I know that must hurt, but I really don’t think this was the appropriate response to this situation, school shootings are never the answer.
