Houston Astros

The 2015 Astros are absolutely great this season as they are on top of the AL West with a 73-61 record and a .545 winning percentage. They are an all around team that can do almost anything with their good pitching,great defense, and outstanding hitting. With leaders like Jose Altuve and Dallas Keuchel they can beat any team that comes in the way.

Although they have not made it to the playoffs since 2005 where they were swept by the Chicago White Socks in the world series they are almost guaranteed a spot this season.

On June 8th 2015 Carlos Correa, the Astros top prospect was called up to start at shortstop and ever since then he has been unstoppable at bat on the field and at bat especially with his 76 hits,16 home runs and .276 batting average.

How could I talk about the Houston Astros without talking about the great Jose Altuve. Since his first start as an Astro he has been tearing up the field, embarrassing any pitcher that comes in his way. Standing at only 5’6 he is arguably the best hitter in the MLB today with his .312 batting average, 167 hits, and 56 RBI this season as he leads his team in hits.He was even the first Astro ever to win the batting title in 2014 with his amazing 225 hits in a single season. The risk that the Astros took on a young man from Venezuela in 2011 was huge and it payed off even more.

In my opinion the Houston Astros are not far from a World Series title as ESPN predicted them to win it in 2017, and we will see how far they can make it in the playoffs this year.
